Never trust anyone

A lot of guys have mental deficiencies when it comes to trust — most of us are guilty of it over a great pair of gazongas.
Any guy with a good head on his shoulders knows not to tell a woman
anything of importance, but even these guys can get sucker-punched by a
buddy who seems like a stand-up guy. Here’s one rule of thumb to
follow: Never fall for a good story, a friendly face or a free drink.
Even if a guy is bleeding to death on the floor for the cause, that
doesn’t mean he’s honest — it might just mean he’s bleeding.

Repay debts

Those who will lay it on the line for you
deserve to be recognized. Even more so, those guys that get pinched and
keep their mouth shut should be treated like Super Bowl MVPs. Loyalty is
nearly impossible to replace, especially with all the get-rich-quick
scabs growing up today. When a guy takes one for the team, he will
suffer while your world keeps moving. But when the time comes for him
to get back on board, welcome him back with open arms. The ultimate
slap in the face for a guy who believes in something is to be
forgotten. It’s also the best way to make a vitriolic enemy.

Tell a good story

Learning to tell a story can help you
move up in the world. First of all, it makes you less boring, and
second, it shows that you can be a good wingman when a buddy has an
extra piece of ass to go around. You don’t have to be the world’s
greatest conversationalist, but don’t be a passive deadbeat who can
only utter grunts and snorts while he shovels food in his craw and
scares the children. Being good company comes naturally for some people
and doesn’t for others. But even if you are a grumpy prick, that
doesn’t mean you have to be one at dinner too.

Keep your cool

When you’re in a tight spot and feeling nervous about it, act cool and go about your business. The example in this mob movie
has a dope-toting guy staring down a German shepherd police dog. As
soon as you start sweating bullets and acting strange, you look
suspicious and invite trouble. This works as well for staying out of
trouble as it does for starting trouble. If you are about to steal
someone’s purse, you don’t start getting jittery and jellylike around
them — you take it easy so that Grandma doesn’t sense the coming
assault.

Know when to quit

Once the egg breaks, drop it. Don’t
try and put it back together again. Time is precious, so salvage what
you can and get out. What’s nice about life
is that you can always lie and act like it never happened. Lying is
life’s ace in the hole. Call it cut-and-run, call it retreat –
anything is better than calling from jail. You don’t want to be the one
holding the bag at the rendezvous point when no one else is coming. It’s one thing to be loyal and another to be a sucker.

Tip

No one likes to tip, but for some reason the world decided that for one or two jobs, we pay extra money
based on service. But I’ve noticed a lot of bad service lately and I’m
not sure that you need to always give 15%. The wait staff occasionally
forgets the reason that tipping exists. In general, you should tip
because servers deal with a lot of people and nobody likes that. It’s a
terrible job, but at least at the end of the day, with the tips, they
can have some cash in hand to buy alcohol, cigarettes and drugs. How
else would they make it through each shift?
